Thanks to Krista Cory, an Independent Consultant with Rodan & Fields. I got to try the Rodan & Fields Unblemish Acne Treatment for my hormonal acne. Who thought I would still be fighting hormonal acne after 30? Thank you, Krista!! Now, I got to try it for free, but I’ll always be honest!
R&F Unblemish Gentle Exfoliating Acne Wash
I LOVE this cleanser. It’s super scrubby and I really feel the exfoliation. If I could buy just the cleanser, I would definitely consider it. I have had difficulty finding polishing cleansers that have enough “scrubbies” for my skin. I need to exfoliate every day, maybe not this aggressively, but I certainly need to remove old skin.
R&F Unblemish Clarifying Toner
The Toner kind of feels like rubbing alcohol; it has a slight burning sensation. I would never describe my skin as sensitive but, from here on in, the rest of the treatment I get sensitive skin reactions. The instructions say to start using the treatment every other day and work up to twice a day. I only ever did it every other day and I found that by the end of my PMS week I needed a break. My skin was sensitive.
R&F Unblemish Dual Intensive Acne Treatment
This dual treatment is potent! I made the mistake of using it on some dry spots (even though Krista warned me not to) and it turned into flakes of skin. INTENSELY. I did recover, it was just a learning curve. I found that, as I used this treatment, my acne was more aggressive but I had less zits than usual and they healed quicker, which I take as an improvement.
R&F Unblemish Shine-Free Lotion
Finally, we moisturize! Unfortunately, I don’t like this lotion. When I use it under my make up, I look greasy and glossy by the end of the day. It’s very thick. Probably trying to battle the intense dryness of the other products in the treatment but it’s a little too much. It supposed to be for day wear, because it contains SPF but I just can’t handle this level of moisture.
Luckily, as I was reviewing Rodan & Fields announced they have reformulated Step 4!! It will be called Invisible Matte Defence and provide enhanced mattifying benefits and a lasting shine free look.
I am really impressed with the cleanser, and the dual treatment did a stellar job of cleansing my skin. I could visibly see results even after the first use. Currently, I have set it aside for a couple weeks until my next hormonal breakout. If you get crazy hormonal acne, you would benefit from a skin consultation with Krista, too.
My two complaints: 1) I need to work with Krista to figure out the best way for me to use the product considering it did cause some sensitivities. 2) I hate the 4 steps, but they work! Can you hate them if they work?
