I bought this vintage glider second hand from a nice lady who had rocked all her babies, and grand-babies to sleep for naps in this chair. I got it for $40 Canadian. I probably could have bartered a little harsher for it, but I see them for sale often for over double that! The cushions were worn from all the baby rocking and needed some extra padding and a fresh fabric.
The maple was in really good shape so I didn’t feel the need to sand it and restain it. That made this DIY a nice quick fix!
I added some extra padding, I think it was extra fluffy quilting padding I had leftover from another project way way back. I wrapped the cushions in the padding and then fitted an old white sheet over them. It probably isn’t a excellent choice considering it is going in a baby room but it looks so clean and fresh. I love it. Ask me again in 3 months after real life has been around it. Ha!
I particularly love this little purple pillow with it. What can I say? I’m a girly girl, I guess.
