A new little nephew calls for a new quilt! In the spirit of keeping things simple I impulse bought this fabric. It was on sale, fit the theme I was told his nursery would be in, and finally the billy goats stole my heart!!
Once I had it all cut and laid out I was in agony, I didn’t like them all together. Ah! Some extra grey chevron and a blue border later and I felt much better. Also, I had bought a matching orange chevron which I THOUGHT would tie in well with the goats… it did not. Good-Bye orange chevron… I’ll have to make a plan for that some other day.
Finally, I did the binding in just trees. To maybe tie it all in again. I don’t know. I backed it with this grey and white cuddle which is amazingly soft, but has 4 way stretch and had me wishing for a do over several times. Lesson learnt. Don’t be wooed by the amazing softness of cuddle. Ever.
I do think it turned out well. But this one was much less enjoyable to create.
Still learning from the process. 💕
