PowerBar Plant Protein Bars Product Review

Thanks to ChickAdvisor I got to try these 3 awesome flavours of PowerBar’s Plant Protein bars. Thank you ChickAdvisor & PowerBar!! Now, I got it free but I’ll always be honest!

These bars are dairy free, gluten free, soy free and vegan! (I don’t usually eat that way but it’s nice to decrease those things in my diet.)

I tried Cashew, Salted Caramel and Dark Chocolate first and my first thought was “OMG that’s vegan?!” It tastes like real chocolate! This one was my favourite. The texture is great, it’s chewy and crispy all in one. I’m probably going to replace my candy bar stash with these, they taste that good and have 10g of protein to keep you full.

My second favourite flavour was theAlmond, Sea Salt and Dark Chocolate. My two year old seemed to love them all the same. She just wanted more! (They are that delicious!) I still was in disbelief that these were vegan, they certainly have the chocolate taste down! My least favourite was the Dark chocolate Peanut Butter, I felt it was dry and kinda like eating plain peanut butter.

For the Almond, Sea Salt and Dark Chocolate and theDark Chocolate Peanut Butter I don’t think they aren’t really worth the calories. I know they are better calories than a chocolate bar, but they almost double some chocolate bars. I know they aren’t a candy bar and they have protein – which has calories; but I think they kinda fall between to two needs for me. The first being a sweet craving, and the second being a protein bar. They don’t seem to have enough protein to really be a protein substitute for me (maybe because they are vegan), and they are too high in calories to be a nutritious sweet fix. Except the Cashew one, that one was totally worth it!

If you’re looking for me I’ll be in the pantry with a box of the PowerBar Plant Protein Bars: Cashew, Salted Caramel and Dark Chocolate.
