This past February we took a Costa Rican Adventure to Dreams Las Mareas a brand new resort on the North West coast of Costa Rica. Enjoy a few of our pictures of this amazing vacation.
We went on the nature walk to hopefully see some monkeys – no luck…
We went back a little later, to try and see some monkeys… we found a lot of crabs, colourful fish, and bats. but no monkeys…
Then in the evening we went for a walk on the beach and… we found… no monkeys but…
He latched onto one of our rose steams with his teeth, he wanted to be saved but he couldn’t get the strength to swim against the current. 😦 he eventually died on the beach.
The next day before dinner we went for a walk and found these monkeys! They were literally a 30 steps from the front entrance of the hotel. Here we have a photo of one, can you find him? We saw about 8-10 adult monkeys and two little tiny babies that a mama held like twins, one on each hip. SO ADORABLE!
This picture actually has two, one riding the other’s back! The guy on his back was a lot bigger than the other babies we saw, but his tail was short maybe from a high swinging accident?
Our suite had no bathroom door. It had a glass door on a little room about the size of a shower where the toilet was located. It was fine for us, but for a newly wed get away it may not provide enough privacy… if you know what I mean…
This was an awesome vacation, we completely unplugged and relaxed. All the food was amazing, and we tried all 5 a la carts. The best part was the amazing people we spent it with though, good company makes a good vacation a great one! There were only 2 things we didn’t really like about our trip:
- It was SO HOT!
- Apparently every latitude you get closer to the equator the sun is 20x more intense. Well we both burnt…. partially due to the fact that sunscreen is no longer effective 3 years after it’s expiration date.
- It was really windy for the majority of our trip
- Like “no ma’am we cannot open any umbrellas today due to the wind” and “no ma’am you cannot go paddle boarding today, it’s too windy”
Hope you enjoy a little taste of my Costa Rican Adventure. – Joy
